The Center Township Water Authority will be conducting its annual fire hydrant flushing program throughout the month of October, beginning October 1 and continuing through October 31. Hydrant flushing is a necessary maintenance procedure that helps ensure the reliability of the water distribution system, maintains water quality, and verifies the proper operation of fire hydrants. During this period, customers may experience: Temporary discoloration of water Fluctuations in water pressure Cloudy or rust-colored water These conditions are generally temporary and pose no health risk. If you experience discolored water, we recommend running cold water from a faucet until the water clears. Residents are also encouraged to check their water before doing laundry to avoid potential staining. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we perform this important maintenance to help provide safe and reliable water service to our community. During this period, customers may experience: Temporary discoloration of water; Reduced water pressure; Occasional sediment in water lines. If discoloration occurs, please run COLD WATER ONLY from an indoor faucet until the water clears. We recommend avoiding laundry until your water is clear. Stormwater Invoice Information

Please be advised that the bill received from Berkheimer regarding the Center Township Board Of Supervisors Stormwater Fee is NOT associated with Center Township Water or Sanitary Authorities in any way. The Center Township Board of Supervisors made the difficult decision to impose this new fee on residents due to the increasing and costly PA State mandates regarding the MS4 Program. The Board of Supervisors take any increase to the residents very seriously and unfortunately in this situation the fee was unavoidable.

A Friendly Heads-Up for Our Customers

You may notice our employees installing a small device called an MXU at your home. This device attaches to your existing touchpad and safely transmits water usage information for the Center Township Water Authority office using a wireless signal.

The MXU allows us to read water meters accurately without needing to visit your property in person. Installation is quick and does not impact your water service or plumbing.

Because this work does not require access inside your home, no prior notification or appointment is necessary.

Handy Tips To Avoid Frozen Pipes

Insulate Pipes: Use pipe insulation, heat tape, or even newspaper/fabric to cover pipes
in unheated areas like basements, crawl spaces, and garages.
Keep Water Moving: When temperatures drop below freezing, keep a small, steady trickle of water
running from faucets, especially those on exterior walls.
Warm Your Home: Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow
warmer, heated air to circulate around plumbing.
Eliminate Cold Air: Seal leaks and cracks in walls, windows, and
doors near water pipes to prevent cold drafts.
Outdoor Care: Disconnect garden hoses and shut off the indoor
valve for outdoor spigots, allowing them to drain.
Going Away? If you are away, keep the heat on to a minimum, and consider
shutting off the water completely and draining the system.
